By accessing or using the Trip Riff website, public profile pages, embeddable maps, related emails, or any related mobile application or feature (collectively, the "Platform"), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not access or use the Platform.
2. Definitions
For these Terms:
- "Account" means the account you create to use the Platform.

- "User Content" means any content or data you submit, upload, publish, transmit, or make available through the Platform, including travel history, notes, reviews, photos, profile information, avatars, group names, and other materials.
- "Third-Party Services" means services, software, websites, or platforms that are not operated by Trip Riff, including but not limited to authentication, hosting, analytics, storage, and email-delivery providers.
3. Eligibility and Accounts
3.1 Eligibility
You may use the Platform only if:
- you are at least 18 years old; and
- you are legally able to enter into a binding agreement.
If you are under 18, you may not use the Platform.
3.2 Account Information
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep it updated. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your Account.
3.3 Account Security
You must maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials and promptly notify us at hello@tripriff.com if you believe your Account has been compromised or used without authorization.
3.4 Authentication Providers
The Platform may allow sign-in through password credentials, email-link workflows, Google OAuth, and other sign-in methods we enable from time to time. Your use of any external authentication provider is also subject to that provider's terms and policies.
4. Limited License to Use the Platform
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to access and use the Platform for your personal, non-commercial use.
You may not use the Platform except as expressly permitted by these Terms.
5. The Platform, Availability, and Changes
Trip Riff may add, remove, suspend, replace, or modify features at any time, including social, sharing, analytics, map, photo, invite, and recommendation features.
We do not guarantee that any feature, content, public profile, embed, share link, API route, invite flow, export, or integration will remain available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
We may impose limits on storage, uploads, invitations, groups, usage, or access at any time.
5.1 Force Majeure
Trip Riff is not responsible for any delay, outage, data loss, non-performance, or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, severe weather, fire, war, terrorism, civil unrest, labor disputes, internet or telecommunications failures, power outages, hosting or infrastructure-provider failures, platform or app-store actions, governmental actions, and changes in law.
6. User Content; Ownership and License
6.1 Ownership
As between you and us, you retain ownership of your User Content.
6.2 License to Trip Riff
By submitting or making User Content available through the Platform, you grant Trip Riff a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, fully paid, transferable, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, cache, adapt, modify for technical purposes, publish, distribute, transmit, display, perform, create derivative formatting copies of, and otherwise use that User Content as necessary to:
- operate, provide, and maintain the Platform;
- secure, debug, and improve the Platform;
- generate public profiles, embeds, previews, exports, and share features;
- run social, group, leaderboard, recommendation, analytics, and moderation features; and
- market and promote the Platform.
This license ends when your User Content is deleted from our active systems, except to the extent:
- the content was shared publicly and remains cached, copied, or re-shared by others;
- retention is required for backups, security, legal compliance, or dispute resolution; or
- technical derivative copies were created in the ordinary course of operating the Platform.
6.3 Your Promises About User Content
You represent and warrant that:
- you own or control all rights necessary to submit the User Content;
- your User Content and your use of it do not violate any law or any person's rights;
- your User Content does not infringe intellectual property, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, or contractual rights;
- you have permission to share any third party's personal information, image, or email address that you submit through the Platform; and
- your User Content is not unlawful, fraudulent, defamatory, harassing, hateful, obscene, sexually explicit, exploitative, invasive of privacy, or otherwise objectionable.
6.4 Sensitive and Public Content Warning
Do not upload content you consider confidential, sensitive, or highly personal. Trip Riff includes public-profile, friend, group, embed, and export features, and certain media files are stored using public-read URLs. You are solely responsible for the consequences of sharing your User Content.
6.5 Removal Rights
We may review, remove, restrict, or refuse any User Content at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including if we believe it violates these Terms, the law, or the rights of others, or creates risk for Trip Riff or our users.
6.6 No Duty to Monitor, Verify, Preserve, or Restore
Trip Riff has no obligation to pre-screen, monitor, verify, edit, preserve, restore, or continue hosting any User Content. We are not responsible for the accuracy, legality, safety, or quality of User Content, and we are not a backup or archival service. You are solely responsible for keeping your own copies of User Content you want to retain.
7. Feedback
If you provide suggestions, ideas, feature requests, or other feedback, you grant Trip Riff a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free right to use that feedback for any purpose without restriction or compensation to you.
8. Public Profiles, Sharing, and Social Features
8.1 Public Profiles
If you set a public share slug or use a public share feature, your profile may become publicly accessible. Public profiles, embeds, and previews may show your display name, avatar, map, travel statistics, achievements, and, depending on your settings and the feature involved, trip details and photos.
8.2 Friend and Group Features
If you connect with other users or participate in groups, Trip Riff may display comparisons, leaderboards, overlays, profile information, trip details, reviews, ratings, and associated photos as part of those features.
8.3 Public Sharing Risks
Public or shared content may be indexed, cached, copied, downloaded, screenshotted, re-posted, or otherwise redistributed by others, and we cannot guarantee its removal from third-party systems.
8.4 Invite and Referral Features
If you use invitation or referral features, you represent that you are authorized to contact the recipient and to provide their email address or other information for that purpose.
9. Acceptable Use and Prohibited Conduct
You may not, and may not encourage or assist others to:
- violate any law, regulation, or third-party right;
- use the Platform for any unlawful, fraudulent, misleading, or abusive purpose;
- impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity or affiliation;
- upload malware, harmful code, or content designed to disrupt systems;
- access or attempt to access non-public areas, data, accounts, or systems without authorization;
- reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, probe, or test the vulnerability of the Platform, except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by law;
- scrape, crawl, data-mine, mirror, or harvest the Platform or user data without our express written permission;
- interfere with or disrupt the Platform or the experience of other users;
- use bots or automated means to create accounts, send invites, collect data, or manipulate maps, leaderboards, or recommendations;
- upload content that violates another person's privacy, publicity, or intellectual property rights;
- publish someone else's email address, private travel information, or image without permission;
- use the Platform to send spam or unauthorized commercial communications;
- circumvent rate limits, access controls, invite limits, or security protections;
- exploit, resell, or commercially use the Platform or Content without our written permission.
10. Third-Party Services and Links
The Platform relies on Third-Party Services, including hosting, storage, authentication, analytics, and email providers. Your use of Third-Party Services may also be governed by those providers' terms and policies.
We do not control and are not responsible for:
- the availability, security, or performance of Third-Party Services;
- third-party sites, tools, links, or embedded content; or
- any loss or damage arising from your use of Third-Party Services.
11. Intellectual Property and Platform Rights
The Platform and all Content other than User Content, including software, code, interfaces, logos, branding, graphics, map presentations, designs, text, compilations, and other materials, are owned by or licensed to Trip Riff and are protected by intellectual property and other laws.
Except for the limited license in Section 4, no right, title, or interest in the Platform or our intellectual property is transferred to you.
12. AI, Automated, and Recommendation Features Disclaimer
Trip Riff may provide recommendations, rankings, comparisons, badges, insights, statistics, or other outputs generated through automated, algorithmic, or AI-assisted processes. Those outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, stale, or unsuitable for your circumstances.
These outputs are provided for informational and entertainment purposes only. They are not professional advice, travel advice, safety advice, legal advice, financial advice, medical advice, or a substitute for your own judgment.
13. Travel, Map, and Data Disclaimer
Trip Riff is a travel identity and map-tracking service, not a travel agency, emergency service, insurer, or professional advisor.
We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of:
- destination information;
- travel statistics;
- country or state datasets;
- ratings, reviews, or notes from users;
- public profile content;
- social comparisons, map overlays, or exported maps.
Travel conditions, laws, safety guidance, health rules, and entry requirements change frequently. You are solely responsible for verifying all travel, legal, safety, visa, health, and destination information before acting on anything you see through the Platform.
14. Fees
Unless we expressly state otherwise, the Platform is currently offered without recurring subscription fees. We may introduce paid features, one-time purchases, or subscription offerings in the future. If we do, additional terms may apply.
You are responsible for all taxes, duties, and similar charges associated with your use of any paid offering, except taxes based on our net income.
15. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend, restrict, disable, or terminate your Account or access to the Platform at any time, with or without notice, and for any reason or no reason, including if we believe you violated these Terms, created risk for the Platform, engaged in abuse, or if we discontinue the Platform.
You may stop using the Platform at any time. Account deletion requests may be submitted to hello@tripriff.com.
Upon suspension or termination:
- your right to use the Platform ends immediately;
- we may remove or delete User Content and account data consistent with our Privacy Policy;
- cached, copied, or previously shared public content may remain available outside our control; and
- Sections that by their nature should survive will survive, including Sections 6, 7, 10, 11, 12, 13, 16, 17, 18, 19, and 20.
16. Disclaimer of Warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE.
WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, TRIP RIFF DISCLAIMS ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, QUIET ENJOYMENT, ACCURACY, SYSTEM INTEGRATION, AND THAT THE PLATFORM WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.
WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:
- THE PLATFORM WILL ALWAYS BE AVAILABLE OR FREE OF DEFECTS;
- CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE OR RELIABLE;
- DATA WILL NOT BE LOST, CORRUPTED, OR ACCESSED BY UNAUTHORIZED PARTIES;
- PUBLIC CONTENT WILL REMAIN PRIVATE OR UNINDEXED;
- FILES OR DOWNLOADS WILL BE FREE OF MALWARE OR HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
17. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TRIP RIFF, GOOD WORK DOJO LLC, AND THEIR RESPECTIVE OFFICERS, MANAGERS, MEMBERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, LICENSORS, SERVICE PROVIDERS, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, BUSINESS, GOODWILL, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE PLATFORM, YOUR USER CONTENT, THIRD-PARTY SERVICES, OR THESE TERMS, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF TRIP RIFF, GOOD WORK DOJO LLC, AND THEIR RESPECTIVE OFFICERS, MANAGERS, MEMBERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, LICENSORS, SERVICE PROVIDERS, AND AGENTS FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE PLATFORM OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF:
- THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE PLATFORM IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM; OR
- USD $100.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
18. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Good Work Dojo LLC, Trip Riff, and their respective officers, managers, members, employees, contractors, licensors, service providers, and agents from and against any claims, demands, actions, proceedings, investigations, liabilities, damages, judgments, settlements, penalties, fines, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or relating to:
- your access to or use of the Platform;
- your User Content;
- your violation of these Terms;
- your violation of any law or regulation;
- your violation of any third-party right, including privacy, publicity, intellectual property, confidentiality, or contractual rights; or
- any dispute between you and another user, invite recipient, or third party.
We may assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter subject to indemnification by you, and you agree to cooperate with us in that defense.
19. Dispute Resolution; Arbitration; Class Action Waiver
19.1 Informal Resolution First
Before filing a claim against us, you agree to first send a written notice of dispute to hello@tripriff.com with:
- your name;
- your Trip Riff account email address, if any;
- a description of the dispute; and
- the specific relief you seek.
If we cannot resolve the dispute informally within 30 days after receiving the notice, either party may proceed as described below.
19.2 Agreement to Arbitrate
Except for the exclusions in Section 19.3, you and Trip Riff agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to the Platform, these Terms, or the relationship between you and Trip Riff will be resolved by final and binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its applicable Consumer Arbitration Rules or other AAA rules in effect at the time the claim is filed.
This arbitration agreement is governed by the Federal Arbitration Act, 9 U.S.C. Sections 1-16.
19.3 Excluded Claims
Either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court if the claim qualifies. Either party may also seek temporary, preliminary, or injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction in Travis County, Texas to protect intellectual property, confidential information, or platform security pending completion of arbitration.
19.4 Arbitration Location and Procedure
Unless you and we agree otherwise, arbitration will take place in Travis County, Texas, or remotely by video, phone, written submissions, or another location that the AAA permits and the arbitrator approves.
The arbitrator may award the same individual relief that a court could award, but only to the extent necessary to resolve the individual claim.
19.5 Fees
Arbitration fees will be allocated as required by the applicable AAA rules and governing law. Each party will bear its own attorneys' fees and costs except to the extent the arbitrator awards fees under applicable law or these Terms.
19.6 Class Action and Jury Trial Waiver
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YOU AND TRIP RIFF EACH WAIVE THE RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL AND THE RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION, COLLECTIVE ACTION, PRIVATE ATTORNEY GENERAL ACTION, MASS ACTION, OR OTHER REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING IN COURT OR IN ARBITRATION.
All disputes must be brought on an individual basis only.
19.7 Opt-Out Right
You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by sending an email to hello@tripriff.com within 30 days after you first accept these Terms. Your opt-out notice must include your full name, the email address associated with your Account, and a clear statement that you wish to opt out of arbitration.
If you opt out, the exclusive venue provisions in Section 20 will apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.
19.8 Severability of Arbitration Terms
If any part of this Section 19 is found unenforceable, the unenforceable part will be severed and the remainder will be enforced to the fullest extent permitted by law, except that if the class action waiver in Section 19.6 is found unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim will proceed only in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas, and not in arbitration.
19.9 Time Limit to Bring Claims
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ANY CLAIM OR CAUSE OF ACTION ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE PLATFORM OR THESE TERMS MUST BE FILED WITHIN ONE YEAR AFTER THE CLAIM OR CAUSE OF ACTION AROSE, OR IT WILL BE PERMANENTLY BARRED.
20. Governing Law and Venue
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or the Platform are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except to the extent the Federal Arbitration Act governs Section 19.
For any dispute that is not subject to arbitration, you and Trip Riff agree to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in Travis County, Texas.
21. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated Terms, update the "Last Updated" date, and provide any additional notice required by law or reasonably appropriate under the circumstances.
Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of updated Terms means you accept the updated Terms.
22. Miscellaneous
22.1 Electronic Communications and Notice
You agree to receive notices, disclosures, and other communications from us electronically, including by email, posting on the Platform, or in-product notice. You agree that these electronic communications satisfy any legal requirement that a communication be in writing.
You are responsible for keeping your account email address current. Unless we specify a different notice method, notices to Trip Riff under these Terms must be sent to hello@tripriff.com.
22.2 No Waiver
If Trip Riff does not exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms, that does not waive that right or provision.
22.3 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.
22.4 Assignment
You may not assign, transfer, or delegate these Terms or any rights or obligations under them without our prior written consent. We may assign or transfer these Terms, in whole or in part, without restriction, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, financing, or other corporate transaction.
22.5 Entire Agreement
These Terms and the Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and Trip Riff regarding the Platform and supersede any prior or contemporaneous understandings relating to the Platform.
